After a recent visit to the zoo, I became interested in the history of the site, not least because it contains a castle and the world’s largest collection of Tecton buildings. The Tecton structures give the site its own identity, and the zoo rightly celebrates these buildings.

Dudley Zoo is the only zoo in the UK with a vintage chairlift and a castle on its grounds, and it’s also home to the world’s largest collection of surviving Tecton buildings.
